Kassie Mowry put her first World Championship on lock on Dec. 14 with an impressive finish in the No. 10 round of competition, closing out her fifth NFR appearance with $, earned across ten days, a gold buckle and the RAM Top Gun Award.

In a dramatic one-header in the tenth round, due to Mowry and No. 1 in the standings, Hailey Kinsel, entering neck and neck in the aggregate and world standings, Mowry pulled ahead with asecond run. It landed her No. 2 in the final round of competition, worth the $26, go-round check and fourth-place aggregate placing, worth another . She closed out her season with $, earned.

That landed ahead of Hailey Kinsel, who changed mounts at the last moment from DM Sissy Hayday to KN Fabs Gift Of Fame. Kinsel&#;s second run from the No. 13 on the dirt fell outside of the round placing.

Shad Mayfield has earned his second PRCA World Championship with an All-Around title thanks to a clutch performance in Round 10 of the NFR, finishing the year with $, in winnings.

NFR Round 10 highlights: Champions crowned in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — Former Montana State University cowboy Jesse Brown ended the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in style Saturday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Brown, from Baker City, Ore., clocked the fastest time of this year's NFR at seconds to notch his third round win in the steer wrestling. The time gave Brown the Round 10 win and a check of $33,, which brought his season total to $,, good enough for sixth place in the world standings.

Brown also won the fifth round and tied for the seventh-round win earlier this week.

J.D. Struxness was second in Round 10 with a time of seconds, which helped him just edge Will Lummus for the world championship. Struxness, of Milan, Minn., finished with $, to Lummus' $,
