FreeWorld is a tech nonprofit that gets formerly incarcerated people into high-wage jobs to thrive on their own terms. This program is intended to match those with criminal histories with the resources and community they need to thrive. Once accepted to the program, the FreeWorld team will train Free Agents (program participants) as truck drivers, and continue to assist them in finding higher-paying jobs for a period of five years after graduation. Free Agents can earn anywhere between $60,000 and $100,000 within their first year of driving. From application to job placement, individuals can complete the program within 45 days.     You've heard about free CDL training programs. These are company-paid training programs. However, there's no such thing as a free lunch—there are many tradeoffs with this as you decide on a CDL training program.

    The Paid CDL Training Model

    A paid CDL training program is run by and paid for by trucking companies or other businesses with a large fleet of commercial vehicles. Companies with programs like these use them as a way of hiring: you get through your education and working for them ASAP, so you don't need to look for a job after you finish training.
