Caitlin Owen talks about Unicorn World
Just beyond a stretch of rainbow colored balloon arches, the Greater Richmond Convention Center was transformed into a magical land of make-believe as Unicorn World galloped into Richmond over the weekend.
Unicorn World is a traveling, family-friendly, immersive experience featuring animatronic unicorns, rides, bounce houses, games, arts and crafts, fairies, mermaids and plenty of photo opportunities.
Renowned for its themed activities such as an enchanted forest, an area for story time and colorful, life-sized, moving and neighing unicorns, Unicorn World invites its guests to experience the magic.
29 things to do in Richmond this fall, from Kevin Hart to ‘Mamma Mia’
“We really like just for everyone to find their own magic,” said Caitlin Owen, Unicorn World’s show director. “As cheesy as it is, that’s the best part. For kids of all ages and even adults just to come in and find that magic.”

Get ready for music, comedy, Broadway shows and lots more arts and entertainment coming our way this fall.
The Richmond Symphony is kicking off its new season with Strad Fest, a four-day celebration of the world’s finest instruments. Audiences will have the opportunity to see nine legendary Stradivarius violins, handcrafted between 1685-1725 by Italian luthier Antonio Stradivari, and centuries of musical history from Sept. 12-15.
"Strad Fest is a celebration, a four-day immersion into Stradivari's world," Valentina Peleggi, melody director of the Richmond Symphony, said. "Listening to a 250-year-old Stradivari violin live is always an event. But at Strad Fest, our audience will be able to listen to nine different Strads at once. You can listen to their unusual voices: each one has a different name and is traveling from a different part of the world just to arrive to Richmond."
