Maine-Endwell’s Little League champs hold lifetime of memories. What’s the next chapter?

Early-summer 2016, 7,500 or so Little League Baseball teams commenced a worldwide tournament with grand ambitions and a miniscule chance of ultimate success. Couple months later when the champion emerged? It was the pride of Broome County, New York.

Eleven boys representing Maine-Endwell made Howard J. Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, their Field of Dreams Realized.

Thousands upon thousands attended in August between the west branch of the Susquehanna River and Bald Eagle Mountain. Millions more viewed on television as the fellas completed an unbeaten, unforgettable, unfathomable summer of baseball with a 5-0 showing in the Little League World Series.

On the eve of this year’s LLWS and with M-E’s boys all having finished high school, about to venture off to the next chapters of their lives, the timing is right to do a look-back and catch-up with those who forged an indelible piece of Southern Tier sports history.
