FEI Jumping World Cup Finals 2025: Winners, Wild Cards & Rookies to Watch
It’s an event that’s been a full year in the making, and finally, the 2025 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final in Basel, Switzerland, has arrived.
Let’s start with the good news. Europe is making this year a horse race with at least three of the best mounts in the world on tap to compete (we’ll get to those in a minute). Even still, there are a fair number of top names missing from this year’s start list.
The current World no. 2 and top-ranked rider in the North American League, Kent Farrington (USA), for example, will not compete despite a 4th place finish last year. Nor will his teammate, Olympic silver medalist Laura Kraut, whose top horse, Baloutinue, was withdrawn from the Final on Wednesday after sustaining a minor injury.
But never fear, the show must go on, and there are plenty of top seeds, wild cards, and first timers to root for among the year’s field.

Julien Epaillard and his lightning-fast home-bred gelding Donatello d’Auge stormed to victory in the opening round of the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Final 2025, topping the 1.60m speed class with trademark flair and pipping Ben Maher and Point Break into second.
Renowned as one of the sport’s most formidable riders against the clock, the Frenchman gave Donatello the space to open up his stride across half the arena before launching into the first fence – and never let up from there. Blending bold lines with blistering pace, the pair set a benchmark of 60.3sec that proved untouchable.
“He’s like family to us, we enjoy living with him every day, he’s very special,” said Julien, who also won at this venue during the World Cup qualifier in January. “The ground here is very nice; [Donatello] goes barefoot so that’s very important for us.
“We’ve had a good start but there’s still a long way to go. I hope he’s not too flat and it’s important to go clear tomorrow and try and stay in the top eight.”

With the World Cup Finals in the two Olympic disciplines of show jumping and dressage as well as vaulting, Basel will host an equestrian event in April 2025 that has never been seen before in Switzerland. It will be an unforgettable experience for all horse fans. It starts on Wednesday, 2 April. On Thursday and Friday, the show jumpers will be looking to secure the best possible starting position for the title in two qualifying competitions. The dressage will be decided on Saturday and the vaulting on Sunday. The trophy for The FEI has announced the definite entry list for the 2025 World Cup Final 2025 in Basel (SUI) from 02 to 06 April 2025. The Western European League came to a conclusion last weekend in Den Bosch and was the final CDI-W leg. The North American, Western and Central European League decided its contenders via a point ranking. The Pacific League held one Final, which was won by Mary Hanna. Two slots were still available: The non-league slot which has been given to Brazilian Renderson Oliveira on Fogoso after he competed at the two WEL qualifiers in Madrid and Neumunster. The FEI extra starting place was given to a rider from the host nation, Jessica Neuhauser on Rockson. She competed in Motesice and Basel.
