Monster Hunter World - Gettin' Yolked in the Forest

In Monster Hunter World, few quests have given players as much trouble as Gettin’ Yolked in the Forest, a delivery quest that requires players to deliver two Wyvern Eggs. What’s interesting is that the quest is very easy to complete, even as a solo player, so long as you know what you’re doing.

Gettin' Yolked in the Forest

The quest is obtained by speaking to the Meowscular Chef in Astera. He should have a flashing exclamation mark above his head if he needs to speak to you. Since this is a Level 4 quest, it’s likely that you won’t see it until you’ve progressed to that point.

Once you have the quest, you can find it under the Level 4 optional quests on the quest board in Astera. Load it up and have your character spawn at Ancient Forest Camp (17). This is close to where you’ll find the Wyvern Egg that you’re looking for.

The Wyvern nest, where you’ll find the Wyvern Egg, is in Sector 16, just across the border from the Ancient Forest Camp and Sector 17. There will be a section of the nest with several Wyve

How To Complete The Gettin' Yolked In The Forest Quest In Monster Hunter: World

Gathering materials for new armor sets and weapons is one of your main goals in Monster Hunter World. As you explore more of the areas of the New World and discover new materials, you'll be able to construct new camps, tools, and other useful items to help you on your hunts.

As you explore the New World, you may come across large wyvern nests. Interacting with these will reward you with a Wyvern Egg, but this item functions very differently than others in the game. Below, we'll take a look at everything you need to know about Wyvern Eggs, including where they come from, how to deliver them, and why you'd want to.

How To Find And Deliver Wyvern Eggs

Wyvern Eggs are found in nests in certain areas of the Ancient Forest and Wildspire Wastes. Interacting with this nest will have you pick up a Wyvern Egg, which must then be carried back to camp to be considered delivered. While carrying the egg, certain actions will become unavailable, and you'll move much slower.

When carrying a Wyvern Egg, you won't be able to dodge or crawl, and getting knocked over will have you drop the egg

Wyvern Egg is an item you can pick up and deliver back to camp in Monster Hunter Wilds. See its location, uses, and fastest delivery route here.

Wyvern Eggs can be picked up from a nest found at the top of a large tree in Area 11 of Scarlet Forest. You will need to climb up some vines to get here.

The nest will have multiple eggs lying around but you will only be able to carry one at a time.

Scarlet Forest Map

After picking up a Wyvern Egg, you will be tasked with taking it to any of your camps, either the base camp or a Pop-up Camp. The egg is quite cumbersome and fragile, so it would be best to try and avoid monsters to prevent it from breaking.

In case your egg does break or you lose it along the way, you will need to return to the nest and pick up another one. Successfully delivering the Wyvern Egg will reward you with 150 Guild Points, which was increased in Title Update 2.

How to Farm Guild Points

The quickest way to deliver the Wyvern Egg is to bring it to the pop-up camp in Area 7. At least one of the egg's parents may start chasing you shortly after leaving the nest, so a quick delivery will minimize the risk of losing it.

Monster Hunter World Herbivore Egg & Wyvern Egg Quests: where to find monster eggs and what to do with them

The living ecosystem of Monster Hunter World has everything you'd expect from its wildlife - including monster eggs that some of the creatures in the world will protect, as any animal would its offspring. That's a little bit awkward for them, however, because the commission is in town and there are some great rewards in store for hunters who can bring back monster eggs intact.

These eggs can be found out in the wild while on expeditions but also are sometimes part of the objective for certain optional egg quests. Eggs generally fit into two different kinds: the Herbivore Egg, belonging to the more docile plant-eating monsters, and the Wyvern Egg, which of course belongs to the bigger, badder monsters - the kind that'll eat a hunter if they're given half the chance. Here's how they work, plus how to find them since they're carefully hidden and don't just drop from monsters...
