Preparation[edit]

You cannot take any followers with you on the final two quests, so not only can they not fight alongside you, they cannot carry your burdens. Also, you can never come back here, so you need to take anything you want (particularly the unique items) in your one visit, making carrying space a concern. You will likely be of a high level when completing this quest, resulting in the loot being of higher quality, but better quality is penalized with higher weights.

Only take the bare essentials, strip yourself of anything you don't normally use, though bear in mind you will face some tough fights, so if you rely on food or potions to heal you will need to bring enough. One set of armor, one melee weapon setup (one hand and shield, dual wield, or two handed), and one ranged weapon, should be all you carry.

The Dremora ButlerDB, Dremora merchantDB, the Steed Stone power, and the Extra Pockets perk from the Pickpocket skill can all help to provide som

How To Complete The World-Eater's Eyrie Main Quest In Skyrim

Having forced a dragon to betray Alduin, it's time to defeat the World-Eater by assaulting his stronghold deep in the mountains of Skyrim. This stronghold, Skuldafn, can only be reached by dragons meaning that you will need Odahviing's help to get there.

This quest serves as the final dungeon to the game's main story and will pit you against challenging enemies without any hope of retreat. Once again, you'll be fighting draugr and dragons as you solve puzzles on your way through an ancient Nordic crypt to break into the afterlife. If any quest needs a guide, this is the one.

Starting The World-Eater's Eyrie

The quest follows The Fallen, where you trap Odahviing and convince him to lend you his aid. He tells you that Alduin has retreated to Sovngarde, the Nordic afterlife, to feast on the souls of heroes. As a living person, following him there is normally impossible.

Odahviing explains that Alduin uses a portal at the ancient ruin Skuldafn to reach Sovngarde. As a flightless bipedal Dragonborn, reaching it yourself is beyond you. The on

Hostile upon release?[edit]

When I released him he began to attack me again and I was unable to talk to him. I'm playing on PS3. — Unsigned comment by 184.166.78.129 (talk) at 02:26 on 4 December 2011

Same thing happened to me on X-box. (I reckon its because I stabbed him a few times after he was captured), but I fixed it by releasing him and letting the struggle break out, and then entering Dragonsreach castle, and then when I came back out, he was able to be talked to and ready to be mounted. — Unsigned comment by Truerien (talk) at 03:48 on 9 February 2012
Playing on PC, same thing happened. Advancing to stage 60 prevents any further conversation with Ohdaviing. Also had to utilize the moveto player command while trapping him. Exiting and waiting does nothing. — Unsigned comment by 174.89.69.137 (talk) at 22:02 on 27 June 2012

Second Puzzle[edit]

I tried multiple times at the second puzzle and the only thing that worked for me was modifying the rings before killing the Draugr Death Lord. — Unsigned comment by 208.96.

We seem to be at an impasse, then.

Odahviing

Indeed. Orin brit ro. I cannot leave here until you defeat Alduin, which you cannot do without my help.

(while I contemplate what to do with the captive Odahviing, Farengar approaches the red dragon)

Farengar

Incredible! Uh… sir, you have no idea how long I have waited for such an opportunity!

I would be most appreciative if you would permit me to perform some, ah, tests on you. Purely in the interests of the advancement of knowledge.

Odahviing

Begone, mage. Do not test my promise to the Dovahkiin.

Farengar

I assure you, you will not even notice me. Most of them are hardly painful at all to a large dragon such as yourself.

Surely you wouldn’t miss a few scales… or a small amount of blood…

Odahviing

Joor mey! What are you doing back there?

Yol…Toor…Shul!

Jarl Balgruuf the Greater

Farengar! Enough, fool!

(Farengar runs off. Slightly amused, I approach Odahviing to give him my verdict)

Odahviing

You have reconsidered my offer, hmm? Onikaan kron?

You will release me – ro laan – if in return I promise to take you to Skuldafn and stop helping Alduin?

The Fallen is shown completed, but it won't start the next quest.

Balgruuf is glitched, and keeps initiating conversation with me, but does not offer any new dialogue options.

No guard exists that I can talk to to free him.

And no, reloading a new save is not an option because I finished entire Dawnguard in between. And the last save I have before that is literally 50 hours ago (and yes I use autosave manager)

Console command "setstage MQ303 10" doesn't work because it wants me to "getinfaction"

I'm using quite a few mods, but I don't think anything that will interfere with mainquest.
