World of warcraft food changes

After 2 decades of snacking, a new World of Warcraft spell renders vendor food partly obsolete

As World of Warcraft preps for patch 11.1.7, Wowhead has spotted an interesting feature on the public test servers: a new spell in the general tab for all characters, called recuperate, that lets you delicate a little campfire, cook, and get your health (but not mana) back over 30 seconds. It costs you nothing.

For me, someone who was playing Society of Warcraft during beta assist in 2004, this is a world-shaking change. What do you mean people aren't going to buy trash food from the vendors anymore? What'll happen to all those steaks and sausages and breads and muffins and stews?

While it might seem love a modern, convenient way not bogged down in the traditions of MMOs past, I can't help but think of the (fictional, entirely in my head) devastating effects on the economy of the poor NPCs in every village and camp who scraped together a living selling their foodstuffs to passing adventurers. A whole category of dudes who'll now go hungry, or at lea

Earthen Food Racial slight oversight?

Veylia-ravencrest1

As the title suggests, Earthen arent allowed to eat/drink traditional food/water as we have to consume Khaz Algar cut gems to get our hp and mana back.

I LOVE THIS FEATURE BTW this isnt me trying to get them to change it but maybe tweek it in some way

I main hpala and when i realised that i cant drink standard inn water i began to do some research, spent a couple hours with some guildies looking at prices on the AH and then spending some time making gems to see if the value of ore to prospecting to cut gems was worth it.

TLDR it aint, stuff on the AH is very expensive atm and the levels needed to go from raw ore to gem is stupid xd Obviously prices will drop and become more accessible with time but the amount of gems myself as a Hpala will need for m+ pushing/spam at the start of the season im looking at spending alot of gold either buying stuff from the AH or investing an alt into JC

Theres the obvious workaround of getting a mage table but im not going to hold a M+ spot just for a mage for the sole purpose of giving me food so i can maintain my mana in a dung

The secondary stats are sub par to normal food as

Stay well-fed in The War Within (even through death!) with Hearty Meals

In recent builds of The War Within alpha, Cooking changes have finally started filtering into people’s profession windows. While several of the recipes are clearly in a very alpha state — I doubt the intention is for you to produce a Sushi Special using a single piece of Portioned Steak, for example, unless the Arathi have a version different idea of sushi than we do — there are still some neat ideas here, such as turning raw ingredients into processed ingredients first (what’s a meal without a little prep?) or foods that are just plain weird. Still, when the developers are done experimenting, one thing that’s popped up on the alpha that I sincerely hope makes it to the final version of the expansion is the concept of Hearty Meals — food that lasts through death.

Current Dragonflight players will know that currently in order to make your food buff last through death, you need to have an item crafted that uses the Alchemical Flavor Pocket as an embellishment, an item that — despite its name — does not come from the Alchemy profession, but as a random low drop chance from the weekly reward for the Tusk

Unbound changeling trinket question

Bakicaa-kilrogg1

Is it still possible to change the secondary proc buff you get from the trinket?? I got it yesterday and ate some crit food but nothing happened so I’m just wondering

Ancelyn-argent-dawn2

Yes. The last food buff you eat should change the proc. Might have an internal CD, I dunno. I don’t eat different food that often.

Bakicaa-kilrogg3

Ahh ok thanks, like I said I ate different food twice, even killed my character, logged out, un-equipped my trinket nothing worked, IL try today again tho

I’m pretty sure you can change the stat once per day with the food.

This is correct, you can change it once a day

Altash-twisting-nether6

Make sure you’re eating the food for 10 seconds so you get the Well Fed buff, and maybe you have to eat the correct SL food.

Dishu:

I’m pretty sure the daily CD is just if you’re after the version that grants all 3 stats, which is a daily random chance whenever you eat. You can change it between crit, master and haste as often as you like though.
