The Craigsville Tudor's Biscuit World was along the way during a recent road trip. So, of course I had to stop in.
The menu has all the standard biscuits, and just the couple left that I have yet to try. Like I mentioned previously, there are three kinds of ham biscuits. Last time I tried the shaved, and now I'm onto the country ham. This is a thicker ham in pieces. I may have snuck some cheese on there. Not bad; I am a bigger fan of the shaved.

In 2021, West Virginia was listed as the state with the second highest (39.70%) obesity rate—right under Mississippi (40.80%). When I traveled this summer to Mississippi for the first time, there was no denying that the state has some good food, but I didn’t realize that the two states were so similar—that is, with a strong love for biscuits.
Natchez, Mississippi has the title of the Biscuit Capitol of the World, but that doesn’t mean West Virginians do not love their biscuits at Tudor’s Biscuit World any less. Bill and Mae Tudor were the creators of the franchise and opened the first Tudors in 1980 on Washington Street in Charleston, West Virginia. The West Virginia-based restaurant is not just limited to the state but has opened in southern Ohio (one being only 30 minutes from my home), eastern Kentucky, and one in Panama City, Florida.

It's time to try the Tudor's biscuit favorite of my vegetarian friends: The Dottie.
Winfield is home to a new-to-me location, so I made my way to their Tudor's Biscuit World. It looks more modern than many locations, with a single level and brick exterior. The menu is standard - they all are. Let's talk about the biscuit.
The Dottie has egg, cheese and hashbrown - no meat. So each individual part here is crucial. And, this is when I learned that a really crispy hash brown just completely changes the sandwich. This all is pretty dense and carby, so I ended up adding some ketchup. But my mind has been changed on the hashbrown. It totally changes the sandwich. If it's cripsy, it's delicious. If it's soggy, don't bother.
